- Highlights: 57-acre property with the only known and documented location for Table Mountain pine trees in New Jersey. Special access arrangements can be made to access the property by contacting the New Jersey Natural Land Trust at 609-984-1339 or [email protected]

- Parking: There is a gravel lot immediately to your right which provides convenient access to both the D&R Canal and the White Oak Trail. There is also a paved parking lot adjacent to the park office; after the bridge that crosses over the canal.
- Highlights: This 80-acre New Jersey State Park is located on a forested island that offers hiking, biking, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and bird and wildlife viewing. There is a 1.3 mile paved Inlet Trail and a 1 mile dirt Natural Area Trail. The Park also offers a large picnic area, playground, restrooms, water fountain, and the Roebling-designed pedestrian bridge crossing to Pennsylvania.

- Highlights: The D&R Canal State Park is a linear park that is more than 70 miles long, stretching from Milford to New Brunswick connecting the Delaware River to the Raritan River. In Delaware Township the park runs adjacent to the canal and the Delaware River for 5.6 miles between Bulls Island and the Holcombe-Jimison Farm parking areas. Hiking and biking are permitted, but motorized vehicles are not allowed. Restrooms, water fountain, picnic tables and benches are located at the Bulls Island and Prallsville Mill parking lots.

- Parking: Gravel/dirt cul-de-sac for parking.
- Highlights: Walking and nature observance are permitted on this 147-acre property comprised of fields and woodlands, but there are no designated trails. There is a bench in the parking area that overlooks the field. Hunting is permitted; CLICK HERE for details.
- Address: 640 Rosemont-Ringoes Rd (Rt. 604), Stockton
- Parking: Park at either the lot at Town Hall or the farm parking area; the farm field is along Rt. 604 on the right, approximately 0.1 miles west (heading towards Rosemont) after the stop light (first field after houses; white banner in front).
- Highlights: Walking and nature observance are permitted along the perimeter of the 19-acre farm field, but there are no designated trails.
- Parking: 235-249 Rt. 519; there is an unpaved dirt parking area in Kingwood Township, a brown sign denotes the entrance to the preserve

- Highlights: The Lockatong Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is managed by the NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife and is comprised of 756 acres across Delaware, Franklin and Kingwood Townships. Hunting and wildlife related activities are allowed on WMAs in accordance with WMA Regulations, but camping, picnicking, cutting or damaging vegetation and fires are all prohibited. There are limited hiking trails to the High Falls from the parking area and the trails are not well marked or maintained.

- Address: 323 Locktown-Sergeantsville Road, Flemington – 48506 N 74.97049 W
- Parking: There is a gravel parking area for 1 car located to the right of the church.
- Highlights: The old stone church in the village of Locktown was built in 1819. It is a beautiful example of the federal architectural style used in early 19th century Old School Baptist meeting houses in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The building, which has no congregation, is owned by Delaware Township and is listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Sites. A cemetery dating from the eighteenth century is nearby. Contact the Friends of the Locktown Stone Church at the website below to arrange a tour of the inside of the building.

- Grass/dirt lot for 2-3 cars; limited unmaintained/unmarked trails.
- Highlights: The Plum Brook is a tributary of Wickecheoke Creek. The 311-acre Preserve contains a mixture of mature upland forest, cedar groves, and meadows that support a diverse group of plants and animals, including NJ State threatened and endangered species. There are also nineteenth century stone walls mark the boundaries of old pastures and fields. Hunting, including Sundays, is permitted with permission only.

- Parking: There is a paved pull over area to the left of the school for 1 car. The school is located approximately one mile from the Wescott Preserve parking lot; could also park in this lot and walk to the Reading School.
- Highlights: The Reading School is a one-room school house built in 1861 to accommodate 60 pupils. The school was closed in 1949 and converted to a residence, which it remained until about 2003, when the last tenants moved out. The property belonged to Lloyd Wescott in 1966, when he donated several acres, including the schoolhouse lot, to Hunterdon County. This was a landmark event, being the first example of land donated to the county’s park system. See the link below for more of the history of the school.

- Parking: Main entrance: There is a small gravel pull over area in the grove. Three additional parking lots are located up by the pavilion. There is also a gravel lot at the north entrance gate.
- Highlights: Athletic fields, tennis courts, playground and walking paths are just some of the amenities this gem of a park has to offer.

- Address: 11 Jurgensen Road, Stockton – 44404 N 74.93905 W
- Parking: Gravel/dirt pull over for 2-3 cars at the end of the cul-de-sac
- Highlights: This is a ¼ mile marked and maintained trail connecting Jurgensen Road to the Delaware Township School property. The Township acquired the property as part of subdivision that was approved in 2007. The property had been farmed for many years and the wetlands on the property had been plowed under. Restoring the wetlands and developing a trail to connect Jurgensen Road and the school property was a collaboration between the Environmental Commission and the Delaware Township School. Beginning back in 2017, the Environmental Commission received several grants over the years that allowed for the surveying of the wetlands, the purchasing of native trees and shrubs and the installation of a bridge over the culvert to connect the trail to the school property. The native trees and shrubs were planted with the help of students, Jurgensen Road residents and members of the Environmental Commission.

- Highlights: 1.5-acre property used for Township wide gatherings such as the Block Party, Tractor Parade, Tree Lighting and other community activities.

- Parking:
- Ralph Peter’s Trailhead - 63 Strimples Mill Rd; dirt parking lot for 5-6 cars
- Loop Trailhead - 70 Raven Rock-Rosemont Rd; paver block parking lot for 5-6 cars
- Highlights: Ralph Peter’s Trail is named for the previous owner of the property. This 1.5 mile dirt trail traverses several farm fields before entering the mixed hardwood-coniferous forest and descending to the Lockatong Creek through a beautiful stand of Hemlocks. It follows the creek to the bench on Mimi’s Trail. The Loop Trail is a 0.75 mile relatively flat trail that winds through a meadow and forest with vistas overlooking Lockatong Creek.

- Parking: Park at Bulls Island parking lot (2185 Rt 29, Stockton) – 41102 N 75.03436 W
- Trailhead with map is located approximately 100 feet south; across Rt 29.
- Highlights: This is a marked 2.2 mile out and back forest trail with a 298-foot elevation change. Along the trail you will see beautiful old trees and remnants of an old quarry pit. A picnic table is located along the upper portion of the trail.

NJ Conservation Foundation, with the help of multiple partners including the state, Hunterdon County, Delaware, Kingwood and Franklin Townships, New Jersey Water Supply Authority and supporting foundations, members and neighbors, has preserved over 1,270 acres in the Wickecheoke Creek Watershed over the past 45 years. These acres of woodlands and farmlands have been permanently preserved to protect natural and water resources, wildlife habitat, native plants and our agricultural heritage for the benefit of the public.

- Highlights: The trails follow the Wickecheoke Creek through dense forest and along meadows and can be combined to create loops and longer hikes. Most sections of the trails are relatively flat, although some sections require walking over uneven ground. Creek crossings are indicated on the trail maps; they can be difficult even when the water is low but can be dangerous when the water is high.

Property is accessible for walking and nature observance but there are no designated trails.

- Farm field located at the southwest corner of Rt 519 and Strimples Mill Road
- Parking: Park by pulling into the farm lane in the field by a big tree with cutoff top and NJCF sign.

- Highlights: Walking and nature observance are permitted along the perimeter of the farm field and in the woodlands of this 141-acre property, but there are no designated trails.

- Farm field is located at the northeastern corner of Rt. 519 and Sanford Road
- Parking: Park along Sanford Road at your own risk – 44286 N 74.99632 W

- Highlights: Walking and nature observance are permitted along the perimeter of this 33-acre farm field, but there are no designated trails.
- Address: 126 Kingwood-Stockton Road (Rt 519) Stockton - 42945 N 74.99021 W
- Farm field located on the right side of Rt 519 as you head out of Rosemont towards Kingwood; just before going up the hill (first farm field immediately after the bridge).
- 0.2 miles from the intersection of Rt 604; on the right
- Parking: Park at your own risk in the grass strip between the road and farm field, just before the 40 mph speed limit sign.
- Highlights: Walking and nature observance is permitted along the perimeter of the 11-acre farm field, but there is are no designated trails.
- Address: 28 Pavilica Road, Stockton
- Parking: 39 Pine Hill Rd – 46176 N 74.96761 W
- 1.2 miles from the intersection of Rt 604; on the left (just before bridge)
- 0.5 miles from the intersection of Old Mill Rd; on the right (just after bridge)
- Gravel pull off for 3-4 cars; trailhead for marked trail along Plum Brook is located on east side of Pine Hill Rd.
- Highlights: 94-acre property comprised of woodlands and fields. There is a marked trail in the woods along Plum Brook. The trailhead is across the road from the parking area at 39 Pine Hill Road. From the trail, walk up the rocky hill to access the farm field where there is a seasonal mowed trail connecting to Pavilica Road. The Pine Hill Cemetery is located in the farm field. This cemetery is where Green Sergeant, builder of the Green Sergeant’s Covered Bridge, is buried.

- Highlights: Walking and nature observance are permitted around the perimeter of the farm fields on this 60-acre property but there are no designated trails.
- Address: 54-80 Whiskey Lane, Flemington
- Property is located at the northeast corner of Whiskey Lane and Boars Head Road
- Parking: Park along Boars Head Road at your own risk.
- Highlights: Walking and nature observance are permitted on the 118-acre property, delineated by white diamond NJCF signs, but there are no designated trails. The Wickecheoke Creek traverses through this mainly wooded property.
- Note: Limited to no cell service.
- Address: 110 Raven Rock-Rosemont Road, Stockton – 41604 N 75.01821 W
- Parking: There is a dirt parking lot for approximately 5-6 cars near the iron truss bridge.
- Highlights: Mimi’s Trail is a marked 0.7 mile hike named after Mimi Upmeyer, a founding member of the Hunterdon Land Trust. The trail follows the edge of a meadow, through woods and along the stream to a bench overlooking a pool at the base of a rocky cutbank. The trail is relatively flat but is rocky in some sections. There is also a short uphill/downhill section. The trail connects to the Ralph Peter’s Trail in the Westcott Preserve.
